I have a problem that did not exist before and I’m not sure if it started from a particular update.
This problem only comes with themes such as Publisher (https://themeforest.net/item/publisher-magazine-blog-newspaper-and-review-wordpress-theme/15801051) and Valenti (https://themeforest.net/ Item / valenti-wordpress-hd-review-magazine-news-theme / 5888961
With Twenty Seventeen theme, all works perfectly …
This also happens only when the user is not an administrator.
If I name him an administrator, the problem disappears.
But for security reasons, I can not grant the administrator role to all users of the website.
Specifically, the problem is that users who are not administrators can not add entries or events because the following error appears:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes in /wp-includes/meta.php on line 838
I know it seems to be a simple memory problem, but I’ve talked to Godaddy and they told me that the problem is not about them but it’s about themes and plugins …
I clarify that the problem disappears if I disable the Eventon plugin, and that is why I ask you to please help me solve this problem.
Mar 1,2017 AT 12:36PM - 5 years ago -This definitely sounds like memory issue. Have you requested godaddy to increase memory anyway?
Also, don’t understand. How will it work ok if you disable eventon since it won’t be able to add events without it?
Yes, talk to Godaddy but they say they can not do anything, that the problem is the things that I have installed.
Regarding the second question, the problem is that the traditional post (not events) does not work either when Eventon is activated.
I am not sure why godaddy can’t increase the memory since the error clearly states for it.
I also see that you have additional users roles, on top of default WP roles. So, please check by disabling all other plugins and themes and check once.
I was trying plugins to handle the user roles to try to solve this problem, since if the user is administrator the problem disappears. My idea was to put everyone as administrators and then, with a plugin of these, limit their capabilities individually.
I suppose Godady understands that the problem is so parcular and solved by disabling Eventon or one of the two premium themes (Valenti or Publisher), and because he does not take responsibility ….
Anyway, I’m trying to sort it out another way. I want to migrate the events to a new installation of wordpress in a subdomain …. when separating everything, the problem will disappear ….
Thank you very much
