There was some code provided as a patch, but it didn’t work for me; the events page wouldn’t load at all, just a blank screen.

Can you please disable the plugin wpml eventON and then try to activate eventON again?

For better management please do not create duplicate entries. This makes things really hard for us to understand and identify the ticket requests and supply good support.
