The archive you downloaded is the full archive that contains documentation as well as the installable archive. Please unzip the archive and then find EventON_4.7.1.zip. Now upload the archive to wp-admin > Pluings > Add New Plugin. I just checked it’s contents and they are exactly right. Please don’t unzip the installable archive but upload it.

Could you take a look again? I applied the patch and also cleared the your cache plugin. Seems to be working for me.

Please go to EventON > EventTop > Sorting and Filtering > enable any of “Event filtering options to show on the calendar” to show the filter icon.

For the search, please go to EventON > Search > Enable Search on all calendars by default.
