We would like the EO plugin as it did before and as intended – this are the steps:

  1. A public user goes to our event submission form (EO Action User) at https://events.iloveseattle.org/submit
  2. User enters their event.  If the event location does not yet exist in dropdown, then user creates a new location.  They enter the location address as it appears in Google Maps.
  3. User clicks submit button and event is registered in EO/WP as a draft for review by an editor.
  4. Editor reviews submitted event and publishes it.  Editor goes to newly published event and verifies the information, including location address and map.
  5. If the editor notices that there is no map, then they escalate the matter to me and I contact EO.  I do not want matters escalated to me and I do not want to contact EO because my time is very valuable and expensive.

Please advise.  Are we using your plugin wrong?  Thank you, Gerard

Artem,

This is consuming our resources and increasing the Total Cost of Ownership of your software dramatically.

  • I changed the referrer restriction from URL to IP on Google Maps key.  This resulted in all maps on https://events.iloveseattle.org giving an error message (worse result than before).
  • I deleted all referrer restrictions on Google Maps key.  This resulted in the maps on older events appearing as they should, but did not solve the problem described above for newer events (a map flashes and disappears).  We cannot maintain this setting for long due to the security vulnerability that it creates.
  • I added referrer restriction (https://*.iloveseattle.org).  We are back to where we started.

Gerard

I see. Thank you.  I will change the referrer restriction to IP address instead of URL.  Fingers crossed.

Miércoles / Wednesday 22nd is correct in the main date box, but on the strip it says Martes / Tuesday 22nd and Miércoles / Wednesday 23rd.  Sorry, forgot to say that in the original message.

Here is a screenshot from an event today. I’m about to re-upload the photos for today’s events so everything is showing up properly but I’ll leave the event called “Eyibra: Daddy” so that there is still an event there showing the error.

It seems that Google changed something on their side, so now it requires to set up more restrictions.

Here’s a screenshot of the calendar header. I’m having the same issue on both the English and Spanish versions.
