Hi again, I figured out a solution to the first question!  I just needed to change the event type title under language and included “sort by”and that worked for what I need.

Also, since I have the shortcode set to leave the filter bar open, I was able to css tweak the sort icon to not display on the screen since I didn’t really need it with the filter bar staying open all of the time. That solves the problem of the icon being above the month title.  It doesn’t seem like there would be any issue to not have the sort icon showing, it seems to work okay.

If you still know if I would be able to css a tweak to display the event categories for event #1 and list them in a row in-line instead of in a dropdown, but I’m guessing that is probably a custom code.  If so, it works great as I have it.

when creating a new page (or editing one) or a post there is no option to add a featured image either

Could you please try the instructions mentioned in this documentation to make sure your issue is indeed coming from eventon.

it could very well be eventon but as its effecting other non eventon pages/posts then we need to figure out why. and turning off and on plugins will tell us what plugin is causing the issue (or theme) 

there might be a setting within yellow pencil to do it but I can’t seem to get those settings to load
