Back Buttons on Single event Pages

We have 7 Venues that we run from one site… EventOn handles it great with all the Location and City options. One thing I haven’t been able to figure out completely is returning back to the specific venue from a single event page.

Since all the Single Event pages are dynamically made from the same template I can only assign one Header to them.

Like this one… https://wheremusicmeetsthesoul.com/events/pink-floyd-tribute-by-which-ones-pink-agoura-hills-2021/

I added a “BACK” Button to the template using the Browser history to go back to the page they were on, but is there a way to add a BUTTON that would go back to the venue-specific page depending on the Location or City for that event.

The Back button works when you start out on our page, but not if the link is shared…. I know I could add a set of venue buttons across the top in the template and the is a drop-down to pick venues on the top right, but a Dynamic “Back to Venue” button would be awesome.

Hope that makes sense… Not sure if it’s possible, but I thought I would ask just incase its a simple thing I haven’t stumbled on 🙂

Keep up the Great Work… EventOn is amazing and makes our site so easy to manage 7 venues and hundreds of events 🙂

OK so you could do the following:

create a custom meta data button on the event which links to the venue

      How?

      In myeventon>>>settings>>>>custom meta data

Activate 1 and make it a button called something like “view all events at this venue”

then in my eventon>>>>settings>>>>event card data- activate and position that button where you want
(you could also activate it in myeventon>>>>settings>>>>>event top- you may need to style it)

now, when you create your event- there will be a new button on the edit event page

link that to the venue page for each individual event

that way- its on the event and you don’t have to stuff around with the page template

      would that work?

Wow… sorry for slow response… COVID has our workforce cut from 500 people to 12… so I am wicked busy…

Thanks for the pointer, I never have investigated the ‘Custom Meta Data’ stuff before.  That was exactly what I was looking for.   Had to update 250 events or so individually, but I got it all done. Now, It will be automatically set as we always copy an old event and change the details for the new ones.

Thanks Again… You guys Rock!  and I love EventOn!
