Request Body Parsing Failed Error when trying to save event

Hi,

I have a problem with some events. It is something that has been happening randomly on different sites, where I have used eventon. Sometimes when I want to save an event I get a “Security incident detected” error. Most times I have just deleted the event and created it again. But this time some people have already bought tickets for the event, so I don’t want to delete it.

I have contacted the host and they say that there is invalid content in the post – and that it is trying to save a huge amount of data. I haven’t added anything out of the ordinary to these events. When I check my server’s error logs I see:

URI: /wp-admin/post.php
Error: Request Body Parsing Failed. Request body no files data length is larger than the configured limit (12582912).

So it looks like the event-post is pretty large, which does not really make sense since it’s pretty regular and has only one image etc..

This is the post I’m having issues with: https://viborgfolkeuniversitet.dk/arrangementer/livsrusen-en-bog-om-henrik-pontoppidan/

I have been working with WordPress for many years and I have never seen this error other places than when working with EventON. What could be wrong?

    • By: Morten Vestergaard Sep 18,2021 AT 8:10AM - Posted 2 years ago - #252077

Thank you. We really need to solve this as we need to cancel an event. But we cannot cancel it since we cannot save the event.

The problem is spreading even more now.. Here are the URLs that are affected:

      https://viborgfolkeuniversitet.dk/arrangementer/musikhistorie-om-senromantikken/

      https://viborgfolkeuniversitet.dk/arrangementer/livsrusen-en-bog-om-henrik-pontoppidan/

      https://viborgfolkeuniversitet.dk/arrangementer/per-kirkeby-som-graensegaenger-2/

I know Ashan is probably busy, but I have been waiting for an answer for 18 days now, so can you please speed up the process? We really really need to fix this!!

I’m bumping this. Can you elaborate when ASAP is? This support ticket is added 22 days ago, and I can see that you still haven’t logged in to the WordPress installation where we have the problem. How long will we have to keep waiting?

Hi there Morten, really sorry for my delay we have been working on the new eventON 4.0 and been caught up on that 🙂

I can also see this when I tried to save this https://viborgfolkeuniversitet.dk/wp-admin/post.php?post=723&action=edit

I think your site is running out of php memory. please try increasing the limits https://docs.myeventon.com/documentations/increasing-wordpress-memory-limit/

Hmm it could also be the web hosting account you are given only certain amount of data bandwidth and with other plugins and themes + eventON it is just pushing it over the allowed limit.

EventON save all the event post meta into custom post meta database table. Please try increase memory and see if that helps?

Heeey Ashan.. Awesome you’re working on the next version. I am looking forward to trying it out when it’s ready.. If you need a hardcore beta tester, let me know 🙂

I feel so stupid.. It actually worked increasing the memory limit. Tried so many other things, but not that.. Oh well.

      Thanks again.

Ah no worries Morten 🙂 glad you figured it out! Thank you for offering to test. The current version is ready to go now. However if you would like to test future versions, I’d love to take up on your offer. Please let me know and I will add you to our beta tester list and you will get a email to test new features of new version before its released AND some goodies 🙂
