We haven’t tested s2member and cannot say if it is 100% compatible.
However, if you want, I can install it on our demo site so that you can test it yourself and determine if it will work for you.

We have one registered domain (miramichi.org) and WordPress is setup in folders under the root so we can have English and French (/en and /fr). The miramichi.org is the root (/) and is a landing page with the miramichi.org/en and miramichi.org/fr being available with redirects in the htaccess. So, we have one domain only and other plugins have been able to allow the license exceptions. If this is not the case then we can start the refund process as we need a front end submission also so we need to purchase that separately. We will need to install a different plugin like Events Manager.

So if you have separate installations of wordpress they you will need separate licenses. I am not really sure how you have the /en and /fr but if miramichi.com is your main domain and that is where you only wordpress isntallation they you dont need separate licenes. Hope that makes sense?
