Hi Artem, and thank you for the reply.
That was actually a part of a previous fix recommendation to create the missing category:
“Are you making sure the event types ID exists already? If not the addon should create new event type and assign the event to it. “
I tried to get the tool to work by adding the category first, and then importing it. Â Unfortunately, that didn’t change the result. Â Ultimately, we wound up exporting the CSV, sorting by event_type, and manually deleting the non-relevant events.
That worked around the event type issue, but the CSV tool did not work reliably. Â We tried importing the whole CSV, which was about 400 events, and it actually succeeded. Â Except upon review more than 100 events were missing. Â So we chopped the CSV into lists of 100. Â That gave the same result, even after a successful import, not all of the events were in the tool that it said were imported.
This lead us through a tedious process of exporting the CSV from the destination site and comparing it to the original import, noting the discrepancies, and importing the events that were missed. Â Even when we did this, the tool would miss events and we would repeat the process with events that it said were imported, but were not. Â Eventually, we got all 400 events into the destination site.
All this said, I think you need to look for issues in the add-on. Â We have several EventOn products, and they work very well, but the CSV import tool is definitely an outlier in our experience. Â We did this by the book, and all within the EventOn universe, and still couldn’t get it to work reliably. Â While we were able to use it, we were not able to rely on it.
