what you wrote is partially right.

I have installed ActionUser and restricted it so that users can only submit events in their own category “my events”. Attached you will find a screenshot from ActionUser general settings.

 

I wish however for certain users to be able to submit to different categories as well from the frontend. For instance my superiors should be able to submit events also to the calendars “colleagues missing from work” and “warehouse events”.

These calendars are public:

1. https://www.interne-wiki.de/abwesenheitskalender/neunkirchen-seelscheid/
2. https://www.interne-wiki.de/abwesenheitskalender/timisoara/
3. https://www.interne-wiki.de/abwesenheitskalender/meinerzhagen/

4. https://www.interne-wiki.de/abteilungen/lager-logistik/

 

My superiors should be able to submit from frontend these events, however others should not be able to edit or delete them. Only those with access to this special form in the frontend.

Thats why I imagined to either give some users these priviledges or to make a fixed form for these categories and I can make the page where the form is placed as private or restrict user access to the page where the fronend form is.

I wish to move forward with this ticket. Also please tell me, if I wish to update the child theme, will there be problems after your job is done?

EventON can’t help you with that. You should check how people are dealing with this problem when posts, pages,… are deleted. Maybe Yoast plugin can help.

Usually there are widgets with recent posts and search bar on 404 page template. You can add EventON’s Event Lists as well.

“Auto move events to trash when the event date is past” option is enabled.

Also how users can find past events when they are deleted, are you using some kind of cache plugin?

Leila, i have seen this issue before and it had happened for our customers before with conflicts of the theme they are using. However due to our support terms on 3rd party themes. (http://docs.myeventon.com/documentations/terms-and-conditions-and-refund-policy/) we do not support 3rd party conflicts specially theme conflicts and those issues must be resolved via theme developer.
